Microsoft: Office 365 vs. Office 2016
There has been a lot of discussion as of late between the differences of Office 365 and Office 2016. We at Zypes would like to answer a few questions for you on that subject.
First of all, the Office 365 platform is a web-based service that provides you with constantly updated versions of the popular Microsoft Office applications. On the other hand, the Office 2016 product is the traditional delivery method for software where you have to install it and keep it updated on your own, without the benefits of the cloud.
Office 365 migration has packages for Office 365 Home and Office 365 Personal. With the Office 365 Home package, you will always have the latest, fully installed versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access which can be installed on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets and 5 phones. With Office 365 Personal you will have the same installed versions, but only on 1 PC or Mac, 1 tablet and 1 phone.
Both of those Office 365 versions include offline storage to save documents to your PC or Mac, they are always up-to-date and you will receive Microsoft technical support (through online chat or phone at no extra charge for active subscribers). Office 365 Home includes 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage for up to 5 users and 60 minutes of Skype per month for up to 5 users. Office 365 Personal offers the same OneDrive and Skype offerings, except it is only available for 1 user.
Office Home & Student 2016 is quite different than Office 365 in regards to what it includes, which is only Word 2016, Excel 2016, PowerPoint 2016 and OneNote 2016 for use on a single PC or Mac. These applications are not automatically updated, so you must purchase Office again when newer versions become available. Office 2016 is a one-time purchase and does not include any other services included in Office 365.
